That There 'Lectricity

And so it goes that I managed to get Crazy 100mph Powerpoint Guy this semester. For two classes, not just one. That's six hours a week, count 'em. And there are somehow only six freaking people in my Physiology class. Which is kind of nice because I can at least interrupt him with questions about things like why it is that people who have that dysfunction where they don't feel pain (which means they can do serious injury to themselves without realizing it or knowing to go to the doctor) don't feel pain. (Though from his answer, the only thing I could garner was that he didn't really know. And/or it perhaps has something to do with neurotransmitters.)

He seems like a nice enough fellow, and I am happy to say we made it through a class without any discussion of anything remotely meat-related for once. The man is a bit proud of himself though--woot wee, no big deal, 'cept for the fact that it spills out in a bit of a (presumably unintentional but still mildly annoying) condescending attitude when he speaks to us. Yesterday, while using an electrical-wire analogy to explain oligodendrocytes to us, he actually paused to say (with no sense of irony or anything like that) "Everyone has seen what an electrical wire is, right?"

He also laughs at his own jokes a lot, which so far mostly just entail flexing his biceps and referring to them as "pythons."

Thankfully though, Spaghetti is apparently teaching my spa massage class (and I hear he's supposed to be a phenomenal massage instructor). And the fact that I have yet to hear a word about dead animals or anything meat-related come out of my A&P instructor's mouth makes me feel that I don't have much room to complain.

I *DID* take eight fricking pages worth of notes in his class yesterday though--on the first fricking day... I think I only ever topped out at about four in any of my other classes.

Which makes me suspect that the theories about last semester being the most difficult may prove to be wrong.

I mean, I 'tain't never heard me nothin' about that there 'lectricity, so how's I gonna understand me the what and wherefore of these here "neurons?"
